Stream (Slip XII)Live performance with water and
clay April 2007 Private performance for video
camera at The performance was undertaken as part of an on going film project. In collaboration with Steve Brown and Julia Davy, the performance was developed specifically for filming for inclusion in a documentary film about Lee's work. In an outdoor courtyard a structure was built on a wall, which allowed a flow of water to cascade over a ledge. The back wall was painted blue. In a small bath, Lee was covered in white clay slip with the help of his father, John Lee. Philip then stood below the line of falling water until the clay was washed from his body. |
Julia Davy photographed the performance throughout and these images form the slideshow above. Filming and video editing by Steve Brown. We acknowledge the support given by the University of Westminster in the preparations for this performance and in particular technical support from Dave Grover and Tony Moody. |
