BST Body Silence Time

BST Body Silence Time was a live body participatory performance with gold body paint and a canvas clock face, devised, created and performed by Philip Lee for Festal Favours, curated by Clare Carswell during the Charlbury Festival on 10th June 2017.

Philip Lee, wearing red pants and painted gold from head to toe, resists the passage of time as marked by the chimes of the Charlbury church clock and the effects on his middle-aged body. He invited visitors to join him as he performed his ritual gestures in part similar to hop scotch and also mimicking the golden hands of Charlbury Church clock, visible from the forecourt of The Bell public house.
