Mending PhilipMending Philip is a one fold book in which Philip has been put back together with gold. Similar to the Japanese technique kintsugi, in which ceramic vessels are mended with resin containing gold leaf, the joints between pieces of the watercolour paper of a self portrait are golden. In kintsugi, the mending of a broken vessel results in a vessel that is more beautiful than before, similarly, Philip is put back together and the result is an improvement. |
